DJIWA carpet (Caucasus) end of the 19th century - Lot 631
DJIWA carpet (Caucasus) end of the 19th century Dimensions : 160 x 120cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on wool foundation. On an anthracite field stand out three imposing stylized zoomorphic medallions in ivory, brick and blue. We are here in the presence of three "eagles" of the Caucasus. The remiges are widely spread and the whole wingspan is covered with "legs" with sharp talons, flowers and small symbols. The body is oblong and long, decorated with cruciform plants, birds and entomological forms. Small flowers, symbols and animals enrich the field. Two bluish counter borders with brick lady counters frame the main ivory border with a series of double polychrome "S". A certificate of authenticity of the expert, Mr. Frank KASSAPIAN, will be given to the purchaser.
