CHALABERT (Djeraberd) KAZAK carpet called "with Eagles" (Adler) (Caucasus-Armenia), end of the 19th century
Dimensions : 197 x 136cm.
Technical characteristics : wool velvet on wool foundation.
A brick field with small flowers, hosts two imposing stylized representations of the "Caucasian eagle", radiating ivory remiges, cruciform body with multicolored vegetation, legs and starry talons. The main ivory border with polychrome bound Medes stars is flanked by three-color serrated highlights and two-color ribbons.
Beautiful graphics for this carpet typical of the symbolism of the Armenians of the Caucasus.
