Tapestry of Flanders in wool and silk, from... - Lot 5 - FEE - Stanislas Machoïr
Tapestry of Flanders in wool and silk, from the end of the 17th, beginning of the 18th century In the shelter of two old trees, on the banks of a river with grassy, flowery banks, a couple seems to be checking the bird traps they have set up. Indeed, the man puts a bird in the cage that his companion is holding in her hands. An empty cage appears hanging from a dead branch. Bats and a church can be seen emerging from the greenery. A border with a figurative moulded frame, with flowers, acanthus leaves and pearls. (Posterior side borders) Height: 285; Width: 140cm
