Aubusson tapestry panel (France) wool and... - Lot 28 - FEE - Stanislas Machoïr
Aubusson tapestry panel (France) wool and silk, late 18th century Gallant scene Country pleasures, a bird catcher and fun counting flowers In the shelter of two old trees, on the edge of a river with grassy and flowered banks, a couple seem to check the bird traps they have set up. Indeed, the man puts a bird in the cage that his partner is holding in her hands. An empty cage appears hanging from a dead branch. We can see the battisses and a church emerging from the greenery. Border with figurative molded frame, flowers, acanthus leaves and pearls. (Posterior side edges) Height: 285; Width: 140cm. Beautiful polychromy. Maintenance restorations
