KASHGAI (Persia), late 19th century An ivory... - Lot 73 - FEE - Stanislas Machoïr
KASHGAI (Persia), late 19th century An ivory field sowed with multicoloured floral boxes, small animals and ornaments houses a crocheted night-blue octagonal counter-field decorated with three crenellated diamond-shaped brick and old gold main medallions decorated with stylised cruciform plant compositions and charming colourful birds. The whole rests in the middle of an inextricable network of colourful flowers and small diamond-shaped crocheted boxes with floral crosses. Two old gold and navy gold counterborders with garlands of flowers frame the main ruby with a succession of polychrome corollas on undulating floral stems. Beautiful poetry. 245 x 140cm
