JAGUAR XK 140 Roadster DHC – 1955
Serial number: 817232 Carte Grise Française Collection Produced from 1954 to 1957, the XK140 is the road version of the famous C type, which won many times, as at the Le Mans 24 hours. Leaving the Coventry factory on February 16th 1955, the car is delivered on March 10th to the French importer Charles DELECROIX in Paris, a unique reference in the Automobile industry; this businessman certainly made the most beautiful garage in France, Mercedes and Jaguar importer, he made drivers like Stirling MOSS race by winning the Tour de France. Our car is sold to F. W. Mc ALLISTER, officer of the US AIR FORCE, from the base of CHAUMONT, built like the one of Châteauroux at the time of the cold war. This officer, certainly after having seen the victories of the Jaguars at nearby REIMS, offers himself his dream. In 1962, the US AIR FORCE leaving Chaumont Mc ALLISTER returned to the States with his beloved Jaguar. At his death, his widow, decides to sell the car which remained some time without driving, and miracle, it is a Frenchman who acquires it. Its new owner, meticulous, will also take care of this car without counting (more than 40 000€ of repair) at the best specialists. And today it is as it was at its birth. The car has been refurbished with among others a lead-free cylinder head (invoices for 40 000€ for 10 years). The Jaguar Heritage certificate confirms the history of this car with its delivery to the importer and its owner. The only difference is the second paint in chocolate colour with a "honey" leather interior which enhances the elegance of this exceptional car. Jaguar Heritage Certificate Invoice file
