Important and sublime OUCHAK carpet said... - Lot 5 - FEE - Stanislas Machoïr
Important and sublime OUCHAK carpet said to "Medallion" (Asia Minor), late 17th century Indeed throne in its center a mandorla medallion "belly", the edges with crenellations flamboyant sky, emerald and brick and its cruciform pendants. The inside, on an oxidized anthracite background, is a polychrome floral network supporting a magnificent brick floral corolla, with emerald, turquoise and ivory highlights. The whole rests on an oblong field, with an inextricable latticework of marine and purple "brambles", reminding us of the decoration of certain "Lotto" carpets. The field is magnified by four chestnut-starred half corolla flowers, decorated with flower stems with blooming flowers and ivory highlighting. The two ends are enriched by an oxidized anthracite triangle with plant interlacing and flamboyant turquoise and brick crenellations, supporting two small floral medallions. The main chestnut border is decorated with a succession of turquoise, brick, ivory and emerald star-shaped flowers; they are reminiscent of the "Crosses of Light" of the Pazyryk carpet, demonstrating an Armenian artistic and decorative continuity dating back to the Thraco-Phrygian (proto-Armenian) period. Two counterborders frame the main border, one turquoise and the other brick with stylized polychrome flowering stems. They are accompanied by two-tone brick and ivory highlighting. Very great presence. Collection and museum carpet. 560 x 345cm Technical specifications.
